Deathly New Year - Part 1

Just thought I’d do a brief check of the new year’s eve body count (and some peculiar ‘near misses’) on the internet, through several posts, to properly celebrate 2012.

Of course, proper orchestration shall also be recommended.

So, to start off, a Police officer was stabbed while managing traffic somewhere in a little shitty Indonesian backwater town. According to eye witnesses, the officer was stabbed on the neck by a motorcyclist that he had been trying to detain. Lovely.

Thousand of miles away, in a shitty block of the shitty Big Apple, a shootout at a suburban New York family pharmacy left a suspected robber and an off-duty federal agent dead in a confused shootout that took place as the robber fled.

The incident was reportedly started as Charlie's Pharmacy in Seaford, Long Island was held up by a man seeking prescription medication and cash one afternoon.

As the suspect fled he was confronted by three people - two off-duty law enforcement officers and a retired one. A shootout ensued and the suspect was killed by the retiree, who in turn was killed by the off-duty moron.

Didn’t I tell you it was shitty?

Well, guess if you do have to go down you better do it with your boots strapped on and guns blazing hot, eh?

Killers’ Eyes (and Ears)

Some say you can tell from a person’s eyes if he/she has killed before. It’s that thousand miles-sight in a killer’s eye, so they say. Empty, vacant, indifferent. Glad I have met a few of such intriguing characters.

As fucked up as it may sound, I think you can also sense where a person has been from their taste of music. At least that’s how it seemed with what some of my uncanny acquaintances prefer to listen to. Does it say much about their character?

Maybe. Maybe not.

It’s still is nice to know that some who are more misanthropic and less scrupulous than others also have good taste in music.

Talking About Radar...

The very first post in this blog deals with a ‘radar-themed’ allegory. Not that it matters much anyway. It’s just that it reminded me of a certain heavily ‘under-the-radar’ NWOBHM act from UK. Tragically named Radar, the outfit -as far as I know- never created a bigger blip on the genre’s radar map beyond a two tracks Single release in 1983.

How’s that for flying it out under the radar? Pretty impressive I guess (unless your band is actually named Radar)?
