A Thought on Burials

From living to death,

…what would one bring to the tomb?

Something to cuddle to in the grasp of cold earth…

Where one shall be swallowed by time

Silent Mark

As boring as it may sound, you just can’t ‘pretend’ with some types of music. Not with music designed to express the depths of a bottomless, lightless, primal pit, where one’s soul has crept into, in order to shun all manners of benevolence. No sir you cannot pretend that.

It’s something that just ooze out form the notes, the chords, the vocals works…Like dirty, brownish moss on a damp cellar wall. Small details yet with the unmistakable flair of a truly dark heart.

It’s almost like minute traces of dried blood, from a piece of sudaria, used to wipe the dried rivulets of a crucified pagan god.

Nope. You just cannot fake shit like this. It’s ingrained, like a silent mark on the back of your prey’s neck, as your burrow your targeting eyes on it.

Creature of Habit

Some say we are all creatures of habit, and that fondness for being distracted is one of those habitual traits. Perhaps, that’s also the reason why I’m doing this blog or why medieval men and women tinkers with alchemy; religious chants; public executions or dungeon room torture techniques.

Perhaps, it’s the same reason why once a late 1980s obscured underground band hooked you with its haunting songs you just become hooked for life.

Perhaps.

Albums to Flaunt

A short, recent visit to various blogs seemed to show that almost every extreme/alternative music bloggers are putting up posts about their pick of the year’s best handful of albums. Funny. Why do we need to flaunt our personal musical preferences, annually?

Well, I guess I’ll go along and flaunt the two albums that have been spinning rather persistently on my favorite playlist this year (as if anyone’s paying attention at all).

Not enough flaunting yet, eh?

Mortuary Drape and Dragged Into Sunlight are THE DEFINITIVE KILLER BANDS this year for The Ars Totum Requirit Hominem temple of unbridled misanthropic lust.

Nuff said.
